Littlejohn Community Center
Linking the Community Together
Since it opened in 1996, the Littlejohn Community Center has been dedicated to providing a variety of valuable services to the community of Clemson. Many people, especially those in the low to moderate income families have benefited from the programs offered at the Center. There are a wide range of opportunities for the interested volunteers of all ages.
Mission Statement
The Littlejohn Community Center is a facility where citizens of the City of Clemson can enhance the quality of community life and promote:
• Life-long learning
• Individual family, neighborhood, and community growth
• Social, physical and cultural development
Programs
The following programs are routinely offered at Littlejohn Community Center:
ESL – English as a Second Language is a class taught for ninety minutes, two days a week and is available to anyone who needs help speaking the English language.
Adult Ed / GED – On Monday and Wednesday nights ninety minute classes are open to the public for anyone interested in furthering their education or obtaining a high school diploma.
Head Start – This program for three and four year olds prepares children for entering kindergarten and the enrollment process. Under federal guidelines, this program utilizes the facilities at Littlejohn. For more information on Head Start call (864) 654-0709.
Homework Center – On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. volunteers are available to help participants with their homework.
Happy Hearts – Aerobics classes are open to anyone Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
