POSITION TITLE: Head Camp Counselor-Seasonal Temporary Position

BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Head Camp Counselor assists with program implementation and acts as a leader and role model for counselors. The Head Counselor will supervise Camp Counselors and continuously provides feedback and assistance on individual counselor performance. The Head Counselor will evaluate staff performance and development. The Head Counselor is a support person for any staff related issues. Head Counselors will provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities. This position requires superior communication skills, leadership, problem solving, team building, flexibility, and responsibility.

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Creative and energetic, passion for working with children and a love for the outdoors. Experience working with youth in a supportive environment. Ability to teach and assist in teaching skills and activities. Professional attitude matched with lots of enthusiasm. Candidate should be at least 18 years old. Must be available from June 11th through August 3rd. Must be able to work daytime hours ranging from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

GRADE AND SALARY RANGE: $8.00 – $9.00/hr. DOQ, 40 hrs. per week


 

POSITION TITLE: Assistant Camp Director-Seasonal Temporary Position

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Essential function is to assist the program director with managing the day camp program. This will include, but not limited to, scheduling staff in day camp groups, supervision and leadership of all campers and staff, assisting with campers needs such as discipline, and ensuring camper accountability. The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for organizing group activities for day camp, coordinating art activities, verifying daily attendance of day campers, preparing a weekly newsletter for staff and parents. The Assistant Camp Director will provide a safe and nurturing environment for everyone and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all programs.

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Creative and energetic, passion for working with children and a love for the outdoors. Prior camp staff experience. Ability to take initiative, be highly organized, effectively communicate and manage groups. Professional attitude matched with lots of enthusiasm. Candidate should be at least 18 years old. Available from June 11th - August 3rd. Must be able to work daytime hours ranging from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

GRADE AND SALARY RANGE: $9.00 - $10.00/hr. DOQ, 40 hrs. per week


 

POSITION TITLE: Summer Camp Counselor-Seasonal Temporary Position

BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Day Camp Counselor will supervise and effectively lead a group of campers in daily camp activities. Day Camp Counselors will provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities. Counselors handle minor camper misbehavior and difficulties, area clean up, and scheduled program activities. They are the main reason kids enjoy camp and are ambassadors of fun. This position demands commitment to the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. It requires a consistently high energy level, bursts of creativity, a healthy dose of humor, the ability to recognize unhappiness and nurture children accordingly, and the desire to be a positive influence on the lives of children.

POSITION TITLE: LIFEGUARD

BASIC FUNCTIONS: The City of Clemson is accepting applications for lifeguard positions at the Central/Clemson Recreation Center.

REQUIREMENTS: First aid certification, CPR certification and life guard certification. WSI lifeguard training preferred.

GRADE AND SALARY RANGE: $7.25 - $8.00 per hour.

POSITION TITLE: PART TIME BUS DRIVER

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving a bus to safely transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to a time schedule.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and able to satisfactorily complete on-the-job training; any equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid SC Driver’s License with Class B passenger endorsement and no restriction on the use of air brake equipped vehicles, or ability to obtain one.

GRADE AND SALARY RANGE: $8.50 – $9.06 per hour depending on experience.
