Ashtabula Historic House on HWY. 88, 3 miles east of downtown Pendleton, SC.
Farm Days is part of the Pendleton Historic Foundation's educational mission and is free of charge. Ashtabula, a c.1828 antebellum plantation home, will also be open for guided tours, at a reduced admission charge of $4. Visitors should plan on spending at least 2 1/2 - 3 hours at the event, especially if touring the house.
Guests will see all sorts of old tractors, a cotton gin, hay baler, and a hit and miss engine. A large number of hand tools will also be on display and their use demonstrated. Presenters will be on hand to show how candles are made, demonstrate sack quilting, and spinning and weaving techniques.
