The Rental Housing Ordinance


The Rental Housing Ordinance (insert link here…) was initially adopted by City Council in 2000 after several years of study.  The ordinance has been updated several times to reflect the evolution of the program. The primary intent of the ordinance is to establish further safeguards to help protect our single family neighborhoods through a registry program of rental houses.  All rental houses must undergo an annual inspection for “livability standards” and obtain a permit.
