CLEMSON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
ATTEMPTED MURDER; FAILURE TO STOP FOR A POLICE VEHICLE; SPEEDING GREATER THAN 10MPH

At approximately 11:08pm on Friday night, August 5, 2011 officers from the Clemson City Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on highway 93 for speeding in excess of 10mph over the posted speed limit. When the driver stopped his vehicle shots were fired as the officer approached.

As the officer approached the subject’s vehicle the driver leaned out of the vehicle from the driver’s door window and fired shots at the officer
• The officer was able to take cover through the use of his patrol vehicle and return fire as the driver accelerated away from the scene
• The Clemson officer began pursuing the suspect vehicle at which time the suspect fired another shot back towards the Clemson Police vehicle
• The suspect vehicle came to a stop on highway 93 at Parkway Dr. and Calhoun Dr. at which time the driver of the suspect vehicle exited the vehicle and began fleeing on foot leaving the suspect vehicle in gear, allowing it to roll down highway 93
• The suspect then raised his weapon and fired another shot at police
• Another Clemson officer was able to stop the suspect vehicle while officers were in foot pursuit of the subject
• The subject was caught on foot and taken into custody with the firearm used by the suspect still on his possession
• The suspect is a Black Male; Lentravius Leon Geer; DOB: 06/26/1984, 27 years old; 6’-2” 180 pounds from Hartwell, Georgia
• Clemson City Police have charged the suspect with Attempted Murder; Failure to Stop for a Police Vehicle; and Speeding in excess of 10mph Over the Limit
• The suspect is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center on a $33,000.00 surety bond
• VERY FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM EITHER PARTIES AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT
