CLEMSON CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

FORGERY AND AUTO BREAKING

 

The City of Clemson over the past several months has experienced several auto break-ins; where vehicles were left unlocked and person(s) opened the door taking items left unsecured within the vehicle.  A female subject was arrested on an unrelated forgery charge which led to further questioning stemming from information received on the previous auto break-ins.  The questioning of the female suspect led to the arrest of a male subject subsequently charged with several auto burglaries.

 

  • Female arrested and charged with Forgery, questioned about her knowledge of the recent rash of car break-ins
  • Female arrested: Leslie Ann Ross; W/F; DOB: 02/15/1979, from Westminister, SC (charged with Forgery)
  • Male subject arrested: Bryan A. Powell; W/M; DOB: 08/29/1978, from Westminister, SC; charged with nine (9) counts of Breaking Into Automobiles and one (1) Pettit Larceny where he had stolen a bicycle from the City of Clemson
  • Powell and Ross both live together in Westminister
  • The investigation is still on-going and potentially other similar incidents will be cleared up with these two individuals in the Clemson City area along with surrounding jurisdictions
  • Leslie Ann Ross has been released from the Clemson City Jail on a Personal Recognizance Bond
  • Powell is still being held at the Clemson City Jail awaiting a bond hearing
