Clemson City Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit just after midnight on March 13, 2014 at approximately 12:02 am.  A vehicle was measured traveling at a speed of 74mph in a 45mph speed zone.  The driver of the vehicle had pulled off the roadway and then elected to drive away at a high rate of speed in an attempt to flee from the Clemson Officer when signaled to stop by a blue and siren.  The driver continued to drive on highway 76 towards Anderson.  The driver collided with other vehicles on highway 76 near highway 187. Multiple subjects were transported to a hospital by Emergency Medical Services; to include the driver of the fleeing vehicle.  Prior to the speeding violation being observed, the driver of the vehicle had struck another vehicle on highway 76 leaving the scene of that collision.
